SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That should the said Board
of Education find it expedient to reject all bids, as provided
in Section 4 of this Act, it shall, in its discretion, readvertise,
or it shall have the right to construct, equip and furnish the
said school building or buildings in any other way, method or
manner as it shall deem best, and the said Treasurer of the Board
of Education of Charles County shall pay the warrants of the
said Board in the same manner and under the same terms as if
the contract for the same was awarded as set forth in Section 4
aforesaid.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 192.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 371A
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1927 Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Salary of
Clerks of Courts, " increasing; the salaries of the Chief Clerks
of the Baltimore City Court, of the Superior Court of Balti-
more City and of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore
City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 371A of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1927 Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-
title "Salaries of Clerks of Courts, '' be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

371A. The Clerks of the Baltimore City Court, of the Superior
Court of Baltimore City and of the Court of Common Pleas of
Baltimore City, be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to appoint Chief Clerks for each, of their respective Courts, said
appointments to be subject to confirmation by the Supreme
Bench of Baltimore City; and when said appointments have
been so made and confirmed, the Comptroller of the State of
Maryland be, and he is hereby, directed to draw three warrants
upon the State Treasurer, each for the payment of the sum of
Thirty-five Hundred ($3, 500) Dollars per annum in each year
in monthly instalments of Two Hundred and Ninety-one Dol-
lars and Sixty-six Cents ($291. 66) at the end of each and every
