the compensation of the Sheriff of Allegany County, Mary-
land.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 226 of Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Sheriff" be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
226. In the event the fees collected in criminal and civil
cases by the Sheriff of Allegany County shall not in any one
year equal the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3, 000. 00),
the County Commissioners of Allegany County shall levy for
said Sheriff's compensation a sum sufficient when added to the
amount received from said fees, as shown by the Sheriff's an-
nual report to the Comptroller, a duplicate of which shall be
filed with the County Commissioners, to make said Sheriff's
compensation for said year amount to the sum of Three Thou-
sand Dollars ($3, 000. 00). If after the filing of said yearly
report said Sheriff shall collect any additional fees for said year
then same shall be paid by him to the County Commissioners
until they are reimbursed for the amount levied for his com-
pensation and for any expenses of his office, as provided for in
the next succeeding section. Thereafter the balance, if any,
shall then be paid by said Sheriff to the Treasurer of the State
of Maryland.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
June 1st, 1929.

CHAPTER 186.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 102
of Article 39 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, title "Fish and Fisheries, " sub-title "Crabs"; and to
add one new section to Article 39 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, title "Fish and Fisheries, " sub-
title "Crabs, " to be known as Section 102A; providing for
closed season on catching crabs in the waters of Worcester
