SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County, compiled by T. Scott Offutt, 'and published by the
County Commissioners of Baltimore County in nineteen hun-
dred and twenty-eight, be and the same is hereby legalized,
and shall be deemed and taken in all the Courts of this State
and by all Justices of the Peace and by all other Public
Officials therein to be evidence of the Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County purporting to be contained therein.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County are authorized to sell copies
of said Code at such price as in their judgment may be proper.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this. Act is one
of emergency and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public safety, and shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 24.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 140
of Offutt's Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County,
Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore County, " sub-title "County
Treasurer, " as said Section 140 was repealed, and re-
enacted by Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1920, providing for
the compensation of the Treasurer of Baltimore County for
the collection of State and County Taxes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 140 of Offutt's Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore County, Edition of 1916, title "Baltimore
County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " as repealed and re-
enacted by Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1920, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to
read as follows:
Section 140. The Treasurer of Baltimore County, in ad-
dition to his duties as Treasurer of said County, shall be the
collector of all State and County taxes for said County, which
may be levied by the County Commissioners. Before entering
