CHAPTER 156.
AN ACT to provide for the appointment and compensation of
a Constable in the Sixth Election District of Anne Arundel
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That on the first Tuesday in May, 1929, and on the
first Tuesday in May biennially thereafter the County Com-
missioners of Anne Arundel County shall appoint a Constable
for the Sixth Election District of Anne Arundel County, to
serve for a term of two years or until his successor is ap-
pointed and qualified. Said Constable shall give bond to the
County Commissioners of said county in the sum of Five
Hundred Dollars ($500. 00) for the faithful performance of
his duty.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Anne Arundel County shall pay to the said Con-
stable, so appointed, for his service, forty dollars per month.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the fee for civil
cases shall be paid to said Constable, the same as are now
prescribed by law for service rendered in such cases for the
several constables of said county.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby
repealed.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date its passage.

AN ACT to ratify the acts of the Mayor and City Council
of Laurel in issuing certain bonds and to validate said
bonds.
