is hereby given to the provisions and requirements of the said
Act of Congress, approved by the President on the 22nd day
of May, 1928, and the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland foe and they are hereby designated, authorized and
empowered to receive the grants of money appropriated under the
said Act of Congress, and are authorized and empowered to or-
ganize and conduct agricultural extension work which shall be
carried on in connection with the College of Agriculture of said
University in. accordance with the terms and conditions expressed
in the Act of Congress aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Secretary of State
of the State of Maryland is hereby directed to transmit a certified
copy of this Act to the Treasurer of the United States and to the
Secretary of Agriculture of the United States.

CHAPTER 107.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 97H of Article 21 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot
County, " sub-title "Easton, " as amended by Chapter 141
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914.
WHEREAS, By Section 97H of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "Easton, " as amended by Chapter 141 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1914, authority was con-
ferred upon the Mayor and Council of Easton to submit to the
legally qualified voters of said town at either a general or
special election, questions relating to the reconstruction of the
streets of the town and to the purchase or erection of any gas
plant, electric plant, water plant or system of sewers for the
town and to the issuance of bonds therefor; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 641 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1927, conferring power and authority, gen-
erally upon the Mayor and Council, or Town Commissioners,
or any other governing body, of any city or town, to construct,
establish, extend, alter, maintain and operate water supplies,
sewerage, drainage and refuse disposal systems by municipali-
ties and to issue bonds therefor, provided that before the issu-
ance of bonds for any such improvement the question should
