To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, DAVID C. WlNEBRENNER, 3D, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Chap. 441 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Md. of 1922,
Do HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General election held in this
State on Tuesday, November 6, 1928, an Act, known as Chap-
ter 271 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1927, was
submitted to the voters of Anne Arundel County for their
adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Article 16 of
the Constitution of the State, said Act being:
An Act to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County to increase the salary
of the Clerk of the County Commissioners in an amount
not to exceed in any one year the sum of Twenty-four
Hundred Dollars ($2, 400. 00), said salary to be paid
monthly.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby authorized and empowered to increase the
salary of the Clerk of the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County in an amount not to exceed in any one year
Twenty-four Hundred Dollars ($2, 400. 00), said salary to be
paid monthly.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts, inconsistent herewith be, and the same are hereby
repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, Nineteen Hundred and Twen-
ty-seven (1927).
AND I Do CERTIFY, That at said election 1, 253 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 271 of the Acts
of 1927, and 7, 821 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Act in Anne Arundel County; and a majority being
against the adoption thereof, it was thereby rejected and re-
pealed by the voters.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
scribed my name and affixed hereto my Offi-
cial Seal, at the City of Annapolis, this 26th
day of November, 1928.
