ment of the interest on said bonds as it becomes due, as well
as to redeem and pay said bonds as they mature, and to provide
for the operating expenses and the necessary repairs to said
Water Distributing System if at any time the receipts from
water rates shall prove insufficient therefor. Taxes levied for
such purposes and collected by the town tax collector, shall be
paid by the said collector to the treasurer of said Water Board
each year.

The moneys arising from water rents shall be applied, first
to payment of current expenses of said Water Distribution Sys-
tem; secondly, to payment of interest on bonds, and, thirdly,
as to any balance to provide a sinking fund for the payment of
said bonds, and when any bond is paid off it shall immediately
be burned and the fact noted in the registration book herein-
before required and said Water Board is hereby directed to
provide and locate convenient hydrants and fire plugs for the
protection of property from fire.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
the preceding sections of this Act shall not become effective un-
less the same, when submitted, as hereinafter provided, to the
qualified voters of Funkstown at the next regular or special
town election, held in said town shall be approved as herein-
after provided. After the passage of this Act, the "Burgess
and Commissioners of Funkstown" shall fix and designate the
date when the said provisions of this Act shall be submitted to
the qualified voters of said town at such regular or special
election.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the manner of sub-
mission shall be, that, on the ballots at said regular town elec-
tion or at any subsequent election, there shall be printed the
words "For Water Bonds" and "Against Water Bonds, " with
a blank square opposite at the right in each case for the cross
(X) mark of the voter. All the voters desiring to vote for the
provisions of this Act shall place a cross (X) mark in the
square opposite the words "For Water Bonds" and all voters
desiring to vote against the provisions of this Act shall place a
cross (X) mark in the square opposite the words "Against
Water Bonds. " If at the regular or any subsequent town elec-
tion held under the provisions of this Act, the majority of votes
cast shall be "For Water Bonds, " then the provisions of this
Act shall immediately go into effect, and the "Burgess and
Commissioners of Funkstown" may proceed at any time to exe-
