CHAPTER 66.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Crisfield, in Somerset County, Maryland, to issue additional
bonds on the credit of said municipal corporation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the Mayor and Council of Crisfield, in Somer-
set County, Maryland, is hereby authorized and empowered,
from time to time, to issue bonds on the faith and credit of said
municipal corporation in the sum of not exceeding twenty
thousand dollars ($20, 000. 00), the proceeds of the sale where-
of shall be applied to the payment for construction of side-
walks, pavements and other expenses incident to the improve-
ment of the burnt district in the City of Crisfield, Maryland,
said bonds shall be issued as follows, forty bonds of the par value
of five hundred dollars ($500. 00) each, each due and payable
twenty years from the date of issue thereof; that said bonds
shall bear interest not exceeding five per cent, per annum,
payable semi-annually after the date of said bonds, which may
be evidenced by coupons to be attached thereto; that said bonds
shall be signed by the Mayor of Crisfield, sealed with the seal
of the corporation and attested by the Clerk thereof; that the
faith and assessable property of said City of Crisfield are here-
by pledged to the payment and redemption of the principal and
interest on said bonds, which bonds shall be exempt from
County and municipal taxation; that said bonds may be regis-
tered by the Clerk of the Corporation and shall have printed
on them a distinct reference to this Act authorizing the same.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1st, 1929.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the "Burgess and Commis-
sioners of Funkstown, " formerly known as Jerusalem, Wash-
ington County, Maryland, to borrow money on the credit of
said town, and to issue bonds for the payment of the same
to an amount not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars ($15, -
