to time as said County Commissioners of Washington County
may in their discretion determine, not, however, to exceed a
total of fifteen hundred dollars in any one year, and that said
County Commissioners of Washington County be and they are
hereby authorized to levy upon the taxable property in said
Washington County such taxes as may be necessary to provide
the amounts hereinbefore authorized to be paid to said Asso-
ciation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 63.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 1
of Chapter 635 of the Acts of 1927 of the General Assembly
of Maryland, entitled "An Act to authorize and empower the
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to sell and convey cer-
tain real estate within the corporate limits owned by the
city and not needed in the opinion of the Mayor and Council
for municipal purposes and providing for the disposition of
the funds arising from the sale thereof, " said section as
re-enacted with amendments authorizing and empowering
the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to sell and convey,
lease, or otherwise lawfully dispose of the whole or any
part of any real estate and personal property owned by said
Hagerstown that in the opinion of said Mayor and Council
is not needed for municipal purposes, and providing for the
disposition of the proceeds of any such sale, lease, or other
disposition of such property, but providing, further, that
it shall be unlawful for said Mayor and Council to sell,
lease, or otherwise dispose of any municipal electric light
plant property, except machinery and equipment for the
purpose of immediate replacement only, without having first
complied with certain requirements as to publication of
notice of any proposed sale, lease, or other disposition, the
submission of such proposal to the vote of the duly qualified
voters of said Hagerstown, and the number of affirmative
votes required.
