conditions in every respect as it may prescribe by day labor,
whenever the chief engineer, in writing, shall recommend that
course.

CHAPTER 550.

AN ACT authorizing the sum of one hundred dollars to be
paid to S. Ralph Andrews, Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Cecil County, for counsel fees and expenses incurred in
defense of suit instituted against him in his official capacity
by the Elkton Taxi Company.

WHEREAS, suit was instituted against the said S. Ralph
Andrews, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cecil County, in his
official capacity, by the Elkton Taxi Company; and

WHEREAS, the said S. Ralph Andrews, Clerk of the Circuit
Court of Cecil County, has incurred expenses to the amount
of two hundred dollars in the employment of counsel to de-
fend said suit; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said S. Ralph Andrews, Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court of Cecil County, is hereby authorized to pay said
sum of one hundred dollars out of the excess fees of his office.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.

AN ACT to exempt for a period of four years all the property,
real and personal, of the Maryland and Delaware Coast Rail-
way Company from all county and municipal taxes.
