and Commissioners from receiving compensation for services
performed in any other elective or appointive office or position
in the town of Williamsport; authorizing the Burgess and
Commissioners to borrow money from time to time upon the
credit of said town not to exceed $5, 000. 00 and to issue evi-
dences of said indebtedness; and to authorize the cost of re-
pairs of streets and alleys in said town made by the Burgess
and Commissioners to be paid out of funds of the Water Board.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That three new sections be and the same are hereby added
to Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Washington County, " sub-title "Williamsport, "' as
amended by Chapter 17 of the Acts of 1904, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 423 of said Article, and to be known as
Sections 423A, 423B and 423C, and to read as follows:

SEC. 423A. The Burgess, Assistant Burgess and Commissioners:
shall, during their respective terms of office, not be entitled to
compensation for the performance of services in any other elec-
tive or appointive office or position in said town, except as
hereinbefore otherwise expressly provided for.

SEC. 423B. That for any authorized corporate purpose the
Burgess and Commissioners are hereby authorized and em-
powered from time to time to borrow money upon the credit of
said town to an amount which shall not in the aggregate at any
one time exceed the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00),
and to issue evidences of said indebtedness.

SEC. 423C. That whenever the streets or alleys of said town
shall have been damaged or dug up in the construction, main-
tenance or repair of the water distribution system of said town,
the Burgess and Commissioners may restore, replace and re-
surface the same, and the cost of so doing shall be charged
against the Water Board, who are hereby authorized and di-
rected to pay for the same wit of funds in their hands.
