to the County Commissioners of Carroll County of the amount
so advanced by them for the costs of such indexing.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 523.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, "
sub-title "Dogs, " said new section to be known as Section
198, to follow immediately after Section 197B of said Article,
as enacted by Chapter 319 of the Acts of 1927 and to require
persons taking possession of stray dogs to report to the police
and impose fines for failure to do so.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Mont-
gomery County, " sub-title ''Dogs, " said new section to be
known as Section 198, to follow immediately after Section 197B
of said Article as enacted by Chapter 319 of the Acts of 1927,
and to read as follows:

198. And person having in his custody or possession any
stray dog shall report the fact of such custody or possession to
the county police; failure so to report within 15 days after
the commencement of such custody or possession shall constitute
a misdemeanor and any person upon conviction thereof shall be
fined not less than Five Dollars ($5. 00) nor more than Twenty-
five Dollars ($25. 00).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.
