Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Clerks of
Courts, " sub-title "General Duties of Clerks, " to follow said

Section 1, and to be known as Section 1A.

1A. The Clerks of the several Courts referred to in Sec-
tion 1 of this Article shall not make any charge for a copy
of any paper or record in his office whether certified or not
when the same is requested by a man or woman formerly in
the Military, Air or Naval service of the United States Gov-
ernment to be used in connection with any claim such per-
son may have against said government, provided such paper
is requested either by the claimant in person or by the said
government.

CHAPTER 451.

AN ACT to exempt the Carroll County Agricultural and Fair
Association, a body corporate of the State of Maryland,
from assessment or levy upon its property, situate, lying
and being in Carroll County, Maryland, and the payment
of any taxes thereon to Carroll County, in the State of
Maryland.

WHEREAS, the Carroll County Agricultural and Fair Asso-
ciation, of Carroll County, Maryland, a body corporate of the
State of Maryland, is created for general agricultural, art,
and other educational purposes, and for the particular advance-
ment and benefit of agricultural education, in the tilling of
the soil, the raising of better crops, and improving the breed-
ing of better grades of all kinds of live stock for the general
good of the husbandry and housewives of Carroll County and
the State of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature of Maryland, in recognition of
the aforesaid objects and purposes of said Carroll County
Agricultural and Fair Association, a body corporate as afore-
said, has, from year to year, been appropriating money to aid
in this behalf, for the advancement and education of the people
as aforesaid, in all agricultural pursuits; and
