1130 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 445

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 1 of Chapter 455 of the Acts of 1904 as said
section was amended by Chapter 145 of the Acts of 1922, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:

1. The County Commissioners of Cecil County be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to appropriate and con-
tribute annually to the Union Hospital of Cecil County for the
support and maintenance thereof, such sum of money as in their
discretion they, or a majority of them, may deem proper and
necessary; and said County Commissioners of Cecil County are
hereby authorized and empowered to levy annually by taxation
for such sums as may be appropriated by them under the pro-
visions of this Act in the annual levies for taxation in Cecil
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 445.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Aldermen
of Frederick, to impose and collect a license tax from all
persons, firms and corporations, engaged in selling motor
fuel or motor lubricants from tanks placed and maintained
under or on the sidewalks of the city, so long as any such
tanks are permitted to be used 011 the sidewalks and to pro-
vide by ordinance for the removal of said tanks when in
its judgment it shall think proper to remove the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick is
hereby authorized and empowered to provide by ordinance
for the imposition and collection of a license tax, from all
persons, firms and corporations, engaged in selling motor fuel
or motor lubricants from tanks placed and maintained under
or 011 the sidewalks of the city, so long as any such tanks
are permitted to be used for that purpose; provided, however,
that no such license tax shall exceed the sum of one hundred
dollars per year for each pump used in selling motor fuel
and a like amount for each tank used in selling motor lubri-
