CHAPTER 400.

AN ACT to repeal Section 14 of Article 40 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "General Assem-
bly," sub-title "Employment of Legislative Counsel and
Agents and Return of Legislative Expenses," said section
relating to appropriations to the Secretary of State.

WHEREAS, since the adoption of the Budget Amendment,
sections of the Code providing for specific appropriations to
the several departments are useless and superfluous; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 14 of Article 40 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "General Assembly, "
sub-title "Employment of Legislative Counsel and Agents and
Return of Legislative Expenses, " be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 401.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 21 to 31, inclusive, of Article
88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition),
title "State Aid and Charities, " sub-title "Mother's Relief, "
and to enact in lieu thereof seven new sections to be known
as Sections. 21 to 27, inclusive, to provide for the relief of
indigent widows in order to prevent their being separated
from their children.
