ciently cleared, shall be public roads. Provided, however, that
the County Commissioners of Somerset County may build
portions of roads less than thirty (30) feet wide where, in
Smith's Island District and in Fairmount District on the road
leading from the main County highway to the village of Rumb-
ley, in their discretion, the difficulty or cost of building the
said roads to the full width of thirty (30) feet is unwarrant-
ably great.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 47.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
161-A2 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Washington County, " sub-title "Hagers-
town, " as said section was repealed and re-enacted with
amendments by Chapter 492 of the Acts of 1920 of the
General Assembly of Maryland, said section as re-enacted
with amendments providing for changes in the matter of
the salary to be paid to the Supervisors of Election of the
City of Hagerstown.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 161-A2 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of 'Maryland, title "Washington County, "
sub-title "Hagerstown, " as said section was repealed and re-
enacted with amendments by Chapter 492 of the Acts of 1920
of the General Assembly of Maryland, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to
read as follows:
161-A2. The Supervisors of Election of the City of Hag-
erstown shall each receive the sum of one hundred dollars for
each general election conducted by them and the sum of fifty
dollars for each special election conducted by them, to be paid
by the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1929.
