for fire and life insurance companies on one license. (10)
All solicitors of life insurance companies, who go from house
to house or from place to place in the town in the service of
any company. (11) The proprietors of circuses, either for
showing or parading in the town. (12) The proprietors or
promoters of any theatrical performance, troop or company,
and the proprietors of any exhibition or any public entertain-
ment who charges an admission fee; these may be required to
procure a license for each performance, exhibition or entertain-
ment. (13) The owner or promoter of every merry-go-round
or flying horses. (14) All keepers or owners of bowling alleys,
bowling saloons, billiard saloons, bagatelle saloons and all pool
tables and saloons, whether kept or used by a corporation, firm
or individual. (15) All persons who keep or own any dray,
cart or wagon or other vehicle for transportation in the said
town of goods, merchandise or other personal chattels and
effects, for hire, or for which compensation is charged. (16)
The owner or manager of any automobile, carriage or other
vehicle for carrying passengers in said town; provided that no
proprietor of any garage or livery stable who pays a license
to the town as proprietor thereof shall be required to secure
another license for automobiles or other vehicles to carry
passengers in the town as aforesaid. (17) All vendors or
dealers in horses, or mules, whether the parties be residents or
otherwise; provided, that the proprietors of a livery stable may
sell the same without any additional license. (18) The pro-
moters of any public auction of horses, mules or any other
goods and chattels; persons having a livery stable license shall
not be exempt from this license. (19) All undertakers. (20)
The proprietors or publishers of any newspaper. (21) All real
estate brokers. (22) All telephone and telegraph companies
having offices in the said town and doing business therein.
(23) All practicing physicians residing in said town practicing
their profession therein. (24) All attorneys at law having an
office in said town. (25) All persons who conduct public
garages for the sale, hire, storage or exchange of motor vehicles
and accessories and supplies therefor. (26) All persons who
conduct filling stations or other public places for the sale of
gasoline, oil, alcohol or other motor fuels or supplies. (27)
All banking institutions. (28) All plumbers.

272. To encourage manufacturers in said town the Mayor
and Council are authorized and empowered, whenever it shall
seem expedient for the encouragement of the establishment
