SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 436.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
31-A of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-title "County Com-
missioners, " as enacted by Chapter 568 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1912.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 31-A of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "County Commissioners, " as enacted by Chapter 568 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1912, be, and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read
as follows:
Sec, 31-A. The County Commissioners of Talbot County
shall each receive in lieu of the per diem and mileage provided
in Section 31, an annual salary of seven hundred and fifty
dollars ($750. 00) payable quarterly, and all necessary travel-
ing expenses when traveling on county business outside of the
county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 437.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 91 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1924, relating to compensation
of the County Commissioners of Allegany County and re-
enacting the same with amendments increasing the salary
of the County Commissioners.
