sel shall be paid by the Counties in which said duties are re-
spectively performed, and the accounts for these services ren-
dered shall be approved by the County Commissioners for such
County before the same are paid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1927.

CHAPTER 403.

AN ACT to prohibit the manufacture, transportation into
Crisfield, sale, attempt to sell or keeping for sale of intoxi-
cating, spirituous or fermented liquors in Crisfield, Somer-
set County, State of Maryland, to provide for search of
premises where law is violated and providing certain fines
and penalties for the violation of the provisions of the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person or per-
sons or body corporate to manufacture, transport into
Crisfield for destination therein, sell, attempt to sell or
keep for sale anywhere within the corporate limits of the
town of Crisfield, Somerset County, State of Maryland,
intoxicating, spirituous or fermented liquors, except cider and
homemade wine on the premises where manufactured in quant-
ities not less than one gallon; and it shall not be lawful for
any person, persons or body corporate to solicit or take orders
for such intoxicating liquors, at any time, under any pretense
or in any manner or for any purpose whatever within the lim-
its of said town of Crisfield, and any person violating any of
the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof in
the Circuit Court for Somerset County or before a Justice of
the Peace of said Somerset County, trying the case, be fined
not less than fifty dollars and not more than one hundred dol-
lars or be confined in the Maryland House of Correction for not
less than six months nor more than two years, or both, for each
and every offense; provided that nothing in this section shall be
taken to refer to wine for sacramental purposes or other re-
ligious rites nor to any physician in the bona fide treatment
of patients nor to persons acting under the instruction or ad-
vice of physicians.
