person who is alleged to be legally liable for any accident in
which, compensation is paid by the State Accident Fund, pro-
vided, however, that no settlement shall be made by the State
Accident Fund which shall prejudice the rights of the injured
employee in any claim against any such person, without the
consent and approval of the injured employee.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1927.

CHAPTER 397.
AN ACT to further amend and enlarge the powers conferred
upon the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Baltimore, and his
successors, by the Acts of 1832, Chapter 308, and other Acts
supplemental to or amendatory of said statute.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the powers conferred upon the Roman Catho-
lic Archbishop of Baltimore, and his successors, as a corpora-
tion sole, by Chapter 308 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1832, Chapter 268 of the Acts of 1868, Chapter 398 of the
Acts of 1874 and Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1894, or any other
Acts supplemental to or amendatory of said first mentioned
statute, be and the same are hereby amended and enlarged, so
as to authorize said corporation sole to acquire by sale, gift,
lease, devise, bequest, or otherwise, property, real or personal,
free from any limitation as to amount imposed by any of said
former acts or otherwise, and to sell, lease, convey or other-
wise dispose of the same from time to time.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 398.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-
title "Sentence, " to be known as Section 577-B, and to follow
immediately after Section 577-A of said Article, conferring
power upon the judge, then presiding in the Criminal
