of Annapolis, " be and the same is hereby repealed, and that 11
new sections be and the same are hereby enacted in lieu there-
of, to be known as Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 5-A, 5-B, 5-C, 5-D, 5-E,
5-F, 5-G of the Charter of Annapolis, and to read as follows:

Section 2. The Mayor, Counselor and Aldermen of the
City of Annapolis, shall on the 2nd Monday of April, biennial-
ly, appoint three persons who shall be residents in and voters
of the City of Annapolis, two of whom shall always be selected
from the leading political parties of the State, one from each
of said parties. They shall be persons of approved integrity
and capacity and none of them shall hold elective office, and
they must not be candidates for office during their term of office.
They shall be constituted the Board of Supervisors of Election
of the City of Annapolis, each of said Supervisors shall hold
office for two years from the date of appointment, and in the
event of a vacancy existing by any reason, the Mayor, Counselor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis shall proceed immedi-
ately to appoint another person to fill such vacancy.

Section 3. Each Supervisor of Election for the City of
Annapolis shall receive an annual salary of Twenty-Five Dol-
lars per year, which shall be paid by the Mayor, Counselor and
Aldermen of the City of Annapolis by an order of the Mayor
of Annapolis, drawn upon the City Treasury.

Section 4. Before entering upon the duties of their office
the said Supervisors of Election of the City of Annapolis shall
take and subscribe the oath prescribed in the 6th Section of
the 1st Article of the Constitution of Maryland, and also an
oath to perform faithfully and honestly the duties imposed
upon them by law. These oaths shall be taken before and duly
recorded by the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel
County, who shall be entitled to a fee of twenty-five cents for
each oath, to be paid by the Supervisors. Within twenty days
after their appointment the Supervisors of Election for the
City of Annapolis, shall organize as a Board by electing one of
their members as President, and they shall hold office for two
years and until their successors are appointed and qualified,
unless sooner removed for good cause shown by the Mayor,
Counselor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis, who shall
have power to remove them at any time upon written charges
after notice and hearing.
