SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Public Works be, and it is
hereby authorized and empowered to acquire such land in
Baltimore City for the University of Maryland as may be
necessary for the erection of a laboratory and lecture room
building for Pharmacy and Dentistry provided for the Uni-
versity of Maryland by the general construction loan of 1927.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That to such extent
as may be necessary for carrying out the purpose of this
Act the Board of Public Works shall have the right and
power to purchase or to condemn land, earth, gravel, stone,
timber or materials or any improvements in the name of
the State under Article 33-A, title "Eminent Domain, " of
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1st, 1927.

CHAPTER 363.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of. the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Licenses, " sub-
title "Garages, " said new section to be known as Section
228-A and to follow immediately after Section 228 of said
Article, providing for an exemption for space required to
be kept clear, and for the licensing of all garages where three
or more motor vehicles are stored for hire, whether in one
room or in separate or private compartments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby added
to Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
tion), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Garages, " said new section
to be known as Section 228-A, to follow immediately after
Section 228 and to read as follows:
228-A. In computing the license fees of garages according
to the preceding section, a space fifteen feet wide and extend-
ing the entire length or depth of the garage, in all cases where
