than supervision, opening of trails and the building of temporary
structures to make such lands available for campers and visit-
ors, and for the protection of the lands from fire and trespass.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 353.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Hagerstown to sell and convey, in fee simple, certain real
estate in Hagerstown, Maryland, acquired by it for sewerage
and disposal plant purposes by and through the agency of
the Sewerage Commission of Hagerstown, which said Com-
mission no longer exists; providing for certain recitals in
the deeds of conveyance, ratifying and confirming certain
deeds of conveyance to the purchasers of certain tracts here-
tofore sold by the Mayor and Council and providing for the
disposition of the funds arising from the sales thereof.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown is now the
owner and holds in its name certain real estate acquired by and
through the agency of the Sewerage Commission of Hagerstown
for sewerage and drainage purposes, and that the said Sewerage
Commission was by Chapter 124 of the Acts of 1924 abolished
and has long since ceased to exist, and by reason thereof certain
contentions have arisen concerning the title the Mayor and
Council can convey to purchasers of parts of said lands not
needed for sewerage purposes.
AND WHEREAS, by Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1920 the Mayor
and Council of Hagerstown is authorized and empowered to
sell and convey certain portions of the said real estate acquired
by the said Sewerage Commission, not needed in the opinion of
said Sewerage Commission for sewerage and drainage purposes,
and said opinion can no longer be had.
AND WHEREAS, it is a fact that certain parts and portions
of said real estate so acquired and which is desired to be sold
by the Mayor and Council, of Hagerstown, is not needed for
sewerage and drainage purposes for Hagerstown.
