CHAPTER 40.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the Commissioner of

Motor Vehicles to refuse to issue any marker, certificate of

registration or title for any motor vehicle owned in Anne

Arundel County, unless taxes in arrears thereon have been

paid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the 'Commissioner of Motor Vehicles is hereby author-
ized and directed to refuse to issue or transfer any plate or
marker, certificate of registration or title for any motor vehicle
unless he is satisfied that all taxes due and in arrears thereon
have been paid. This Section is only applicable to applications
made for motor vehicles owned in Anne Arundel County, and
provided that this Section shall apply only in the ease of taxes
'becoming due and in arrears in the year 1927 and thereafter.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1927.

CHAPTER 41.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 50
of Article 65 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, title "Militia, " changing the membership fees of
honorary members of the Maryland National Guard.

CHAPTER 42.

AN ACT to authorize George H. Schwartz, of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, to construct, maintain and operate a
bridge in Anne Arundel County, at his own expense, con-
necting Glen Island with the mainland at Beard's Point.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That George H. Schwartz, of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, is hereby authorized and empowered to construct,
maintain and operate a foot-bridge in Anne Arundel County,
