tensions, additions or improvements to said Water iSupply Sys-
tem; and to fix and revise rates or charges for the use of water
and to determine the terms and conditions upon which water
will be furnished to the residents of La Plata or vicinity. Pro-
vided, however, that nothing in this Act contained is intended
or shall be taken or construed as relieving the Town Commis-
sioners of La Plata from any and all provisions of Sections 346
to 418, inclusive of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1924 Edition), known as the Public Service Commission
Law, or any amendments thereto.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That the said Town Com-
missioners be and they are hereby directed and required to apply
all revenues from the water supply system for paying the ex-
penses of properly keeping up and operating said water supply
system and to use the surplus, if any remains, for the payment
of interest and for the redemption of the bonds outstanding for
said water supply system as they mature and become payable.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That, in addition to the
present tax which the Town Commissioners of La Plata may
levy, the said Town Commissioners be and they are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to levy an additional tax not exceeding
seventy-five cents on the hundred dollars of assessable property
in said town.

SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be
submitted to the qualified voters of the town of La Plata at the
regular town election to be held in May, 1927, for adoption or
rejection, and there shall be printed on the ballots at said elec-
tion the words "For Water Supply Loan" and "Against Water
Supply Loan, " with a square after said words, in each case, for
the (x) mark of the voter, and the voter may vote thereon by
an (x) mark after Ms choice, and if there be a majority of
votes cast in favor of said loan, then this Act and the provisions
thereof shall go into effect immediately; and if there be a ma-
jority of votes cast against said loan, then this Act shall be null
and void, except as hereinafter provided.

In the event that a majority of votes cast at the regular elec-
tion to be held in May, 1927, as provided for in this Act, shall
be against said loan, then the Town Commissioners of La Plata
shall have the power and authority to submit the said water
supply loan herein proposed in the same manner and under the
authority of this Act at any subsequent regular municipal elec-
tion held in said town in the same manner and method as herein
before provided, and that this power shall be a continuing one
until such time as said proposed water supply loan shall be
approved.
