CHAPTER 263.

AN ACT to repeal, and re-enact with amendments, Section
149 of Melvin's Code of Public Local Laws for Anne Arun-
del County (1914), title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title
"Circuit Court, " providing for the appointment and com-
pensation of a Court Stenographer.

CHAPTER 264.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
238 and 239 of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Somerset County, " sub-title "Revenue
and Taxes, " as said Section 238 was amended by Chapter
10 of the Acts of 1910 and as said Section 239 was amended
by Chapter 105 of the Acts of 1922, increasing the salary
of the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer of Somerset County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 238 and 239 of Article 20 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset
County, " sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " as said Section 238
was amended by Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1910 and as said
Section 239 was amended by Chapter 105 of the Acts of 1922,
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments to read as follows:

238. The Treasurer shall receive as compensation for his
services as Treasurer and as clerk to the County Commis-
sioners an annual salary of twenty-five hundred dollars

($2, 500) payable by Somerset County.

239. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall per-
form such duties as the said Treasurer may require, and for
whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be responsible, and
who shall act in his stead and place in his absence, and said
deputy shall be paid by Somerset County an annual salary,
the amount of which is to be determined by the County Com-
missioners of said county, provided, it shall in no event be
more than eighteen hundred dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1927.
