436 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 248

CHAPTER 248.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County, Maryland, to make spe-
cial annual levies of not more than fifteen (15) cents on
each $100. 00 of the assessable value of the real and personal
property within a certain defined area in the Seventh Elec-
tion District in said county for the purpose of establishing,
maintaining and operating, including payment of salaries of
firemen, the fire department now known as the Chevy Chase
Fire Department, Inc., within the said certain area herein
definitely defined; also providing for the manner in which
the number of cents on each $100. 00 of the assessable value
of the real and personal property within said certain defined
area to be levied each year shall be determined, and authoriz-
ing the tax collecting authorities of said county to collect
said special levy and to pay over to the Treasurer of the
said Chevy Chase Fire Department, Inc., its successor or
successors, the tax so levied and collected for disbursement
for the said purposes of establishing, maintaining and oper-
ating the said fire department in said area.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purpose of providing funds with which
to establish, maintain and operate a fire department within
the area in the Seventh Election District in said Montgomery
County, particularly designated and described, and lying and
being within the bounds, courses and distances as follows, to
wit: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Wis-
consin Avenue with the Western boundary line of the District
of Columbia and running thence northerly along said west-
ern boundary line of the District of Columbia to the inter-
section of Lot 14 "Pinehurst" and Pinehurst Circle; thence
following the western arc of Pinehurst Circle to the east-
ern line of Lot 17 "Pinehurst"; thence northerly along
the eastern line of said Lot 17 "Pinehurst" to the eastern line
of Martin's Third Addition to Chevy Chase; thence following
the eastern line of Martin's Third, First, Second and Fourth
Additions to Chevy Chase to the south line of the H. M.
Griffith property and a prolongation of the south line of said
H. M. Griffith property to the west line of Brookeville Road;
thence north along the west line of Brookeville Road to the
east line of the property of the Chevy Chase Land Company;
thence north along said east line of the property of the Chevy
