bonds semi-annually, and to cancel and pay one bond of $1, 000.
in each and every year until the whole of said bonds shall have
been paid and cancelled.. A separate account of said tax shall
be kept by the Mayor and Council, and shall not be used for any
other purpose than is herein specified.

SEC. 4. That Arthur F. Grace, Howard Towers, Chas. W.
Sigman, and C. Norman Jefferson, who together with the Mayor
of Easton are hereby appointed a Commission who shall have
charge of the purchase of such fire equipment as the Mayor
and Council shall deem necessary, and also of the purchase of
the land and of the erection of the building thereon, as is
provided in Section 2, hereof, and shall have power to advertise
for bids for work, labor and material, and make contracts
therefor or for any part thereof; to appoint such assistants as
may be required, and to do all other acts and things which may
be deemed necessary to be done to properly perform the duties
for which said Commission is appointed.

SEC. 5. That all Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with the
intent and purpose of this Act be and the same are hereby
repealed in so far as they or any part of them are inconsistent
herewith.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and feeing passed upon
a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly of
Maryland, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 228.

AN ACT to enact and add a new Section to be known as Sec-
tion 138-A to follow immediately after Section 138 of Arti-
cle 33 of the Code of Public 'General Laws of Maryland,
title "Elections, " to provide for not more than three addi-
tional polling places in any one precinct in Wicomico Coun-
ty.

Sec. 138-A. The Board of Supervisors of Election of Wicomico
County shall have power whenever more than 600 persons are
registered in any one election precinct, or in any election dis-
trict which may not be divided into election precincts, to pro-
vide, in their discretion, one or two, but not more than three
