same manner as is provided in the preceding section for the
payment of the salaries of the crier of the Superior Court, the
crier of the Baltimore City Court and the crier of the Court of
Common Pleas of Baltimore City. Every bailiff, who after hav-
ing served not less than twenty-five preceding consecutive years
or shall have become physically or mentally incapacitated from
performing the duties of bailiff from ailments or accidents not
resulting from any own misconduct, shall be entitled to retire-
ment with a salary of $1, 000 per annum, payable as other bai-
liffs' salaries are now paid, provided that such retirement shall
be evidenced by a satisfactory certificate approved by the Su-
preme Bench of Baltimore City, directed to the City Register,
advising Mm of the retirement of the said bailiff, and that said
retirement is in accord with the provisions of this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 353 of
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"City of Baltimore, " sub-title "Orphans' Court, " as said sec-
tion was amended by Chapter 125 of the Acts of 1920, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read
as follows:

353. The Bailiffs of the said Orphans' Court of Baltimore
City shall receive a salary of Two Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($2, 500) per annum, payable in monthly instalments
at the end of each and every month by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1928.

CHAPTER 188.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
21 and 42 of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, Edition of 1924, title "Banks and Trust Companies. "
sub-titles "Banks" and "Trust Companies, " respectively,
and to add a new Section to said Article, to follow Section
52, under the sub-title "General Regulations, " and to be
known as Section 52-A, to provide for the perpetual succes-
sion of all banks, savings institutions and trust companies,
incorporated under the laws of this State.
