person or persons so electee! to hold office for the unexpired
term. The Commissioners shall serve without compensation.
SEC. 8. The candidate for Commissioner receiving the high-
est number of votes in the election shall be Chairman of the
Board of Commissioners and shall be known as The Mayor
of the Town of Berwyn.
SEC. 9. The 'Commissioners shall meet in said town on the
first Monday in June succeeding their election, and from time
to time thereafter as occasion may require, or upon the call of
the Mayor.
SEC. 10. The said Commissioners shall annually elect a
Treasurer who shall also act as Clerk for said Commissioners,
and as Assessor of said Town, and who in addition to his duties
as Treasurer shall keep the minutes of their proceedings in a
well bound book, which shall be open to inspection of all per-
sons interested therein, and he shall as Clerk perform such
other duties as the Commissioners may assign to him.
SEC. 11. The Commissioners shall annually elect one or
more Bailiffs for said town, who shall and are hereby declared
to have all the powers of a constable of Prince George's County
within said town, and who shall perform such duties as may be
required of them by said Commissioners and who shall pre-
serve peace and good order in said town.
SEC. 12. The Commissioners shall annually elect a Health
Officer for said town, whose duties may be prescribed by said
Commissioners.
SEC. 13. Before any elective or appointive officer of the
town of Berwyn shall enter upon the duties of his office he shall
make oath before any officer authorized by law to administer
an oath in Prince George's County that he will diligently and
faithfully, to the best of his skill and judgment, perform the
duties of his office and he shall file a certificate of such oath
with the Clerk or Chairman of said Commissioners, which
shall become a part of the records of said town.
SEC. 14. The Treasurer and Bailiffs shall give bond to the
Commissioners in such penalty and with such sureties as said
Commissioners may require conditioned upon the faithful per-
formance of the duties of their respective offices.
