received by him, and shall promptly disburse on the order of
the Mayor and Common Council under such regulations as
they may prescribe, all sums of moneys so received by him.
He shall receive for his services five per cent, of his collec-
tions, provided, his total compensation for such services shall
not exceed $2, 000 in any one fiscal year.

CHAPTER 170.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County to levy an amount sufficient to
pay the unpaid bills for labor and material furnished on the
Bowie High School in said County as the said amounts may
be certified to them by the Board of Education for Prince
George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County are hereby authorized and directed to levy, at the tax
levying period next succeeding the passage of this Act, a tax
on all of the taxable property of said County sufficient to pro-
duce a sum to pay the unpaid bills for labor and material due
and owing on the Bowie High School at Bowie in said County,
which were incurred by the Iroquois Engineering Company,
the contractors, and not paid by them, as the said unpaid
amount may be certified to them by the Board of Education
for Prince George's County. As soon as the amount raised by
the tax hereby directed to be levied is advisable, the said County
Commissioners shall pay to the persons or their attorneys, the
sums so authorized to be paid by the Board of Education for
said County as hereinafter determined.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That within sixty days
after the passage of this Act, all persons, firms or corporations
having any claims for labor or material furnished or expended
in and about the construction of the Bowie High School at
Bowie, shall file an itemized account with an affidavit attached,
making oath that the items were actually delivered to or ex-
pended upon said High School and that the amount of the claim
is justly due, with the Board of Education for Prince George's
County. The said Board of Education shall forthwith examine
