NO. 17.
A Joint Resolution requesting the State Roads Commission to
build a bridge across the Potomac River between Kitz-
millersville, Maryland, and Blaine, West Virginia, provided
the State of West Virginia pays half the cost, Maryland's
share to come out of the Bridge Loan.
WHEREAS, The General Assembly of Maryland is informed
as to the advisability and feasibility of the erection and con-
struction of a suitable btridge across the Potomac River connect-
ing Kitzmillersville, Maryland, and Blaine, West Virginia;
and
WHEREAS, The erection of such a bridge will be greatly to
the advantage of the citizens of both States and the cost there-
for should be borne by each State equally; therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
State Roads Commission be and it is hereby authorized and
requested to build a bridge across the Potomac River between
said towns, or to do so in co-operation with the proper authori-
ties of the State of West Virginia, provided said State agrees
to pay half the cost thereof; and to open negotiations to this
end with the proper authorities of said State; and to pay
Maryland's share of the cost of said bridge out of the Bridge
Loan; and to determine jointly with the proper authorities of
West Virginia the kind, character, plans and specifications of
said bridge; and be it further
Resolved, That the said State Roads Commission shall report
in writing to the Governor on its action in the premises.

A Joint Resolution extending the thanks of the General As-
sembly of Maryland to the Hagerstown Chamber of Com-
merce for their courtesy and thoughtfulness manifested on
the recent tour of the State by the General Assembly of
Maryland.
