NO. 6.

A Joint Resolution relative to the portrait of Judge Richard
H. Alvey.

WHEREAS, The Hon. Richard H. Alvey was a member of
the Court of Appeals from 1867-1893, inclusive; and

WHEREAS, He was Chief Judge of said Court from 1883-
1893, inclusive; and

WHEREAS, He was the first Chief Judge of the Court of
Appeals of the District of Columbia, which Court he organ-
ized; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Venezuelan Boundary
Commission; and

WHEREAS, No proper official recognition has been given to
the services he has rendered to the State; therefore be it

Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a
portrait of Judge Richard H. Alvey be made and hung in
the Court of Appeals and that the Governor be and he is
hereby requested to include in the Supplemental Budget Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for this purpose.

Approved March 11, 1927.

A Joint Resolution extending the term of service of the Honor-
able Frank I. Duncan as Associate Judge of the Third Judi-
cial Circuit of Maryland.

WHEREAS, The Honorable Frank I. Duncan was appointed
an Associate Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit of Maryland
by the late Governor Edwin Warfield in October, 1905, and
elected to the same position without opposition in November,
1905, for a term of fifteen years; and
