less said person shall first obtain from the County Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County a license, if such license is re-
quired by the County Commissioners, or by any rule, regula-
tion or ordinance passed under the authority of this Act,
for the operation of such business or enterprise, and shall pay
to the County Commissioners such sum or sums as may be
fixed as a license fee for the business or enterprise so operated
or established, provided that any person or persons, house,
company, association, or body corporate who shall operate or
establish any business or enterprise mentioned in Section 1,
hereof, without first having procured the license prescribed,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more
than one hundred dollars for such offense.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That the County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County shall fix and enforce a uni-
form schedule of fees for licensing any class of business or en-
terprise as they may deem necessary, and shall collect all fees
so determined, and pay the same over to the County Treas-
urer for the use of the County.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted,. That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 703.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Montgomery County to make rules and regulations for
the construction of buildings within the Maryland Wash-
ington Metropolitan District of said County, as established
by the General Assembly of Maryland of 1927, and to pro-
vide for the appointment of a building inspector and to pre-
scribe penalties for failure to comply with the provisions of
said building regulations.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and
directed by uniform rules and regulations to regulate the con-
struction, tearing down and improvement of all types of
