meanor, and upon conviction thereof before a Justice of the
Peace of the State of Maryland, shall be sentenced to pay a
fine of Ten Dollars for each offense and the costs, and such
person's license shall be void and shall be surrendered to
such Justice of the Peace, and by such Justice immediately
sent to the State Conservation Commissioner; and in default
of payment of such fine and costs, such person shall stand
committed to the County or City Jail, as the case may be,
for a period of one day for each dollar of said fine and costs
which shall be unpaid. All fines recovered under this Act
shall be immediately forwarded by the Justice of the Peace
to whom they are paid, to the Treasurer of Maryland, to-
gether with a statement of the cause for which said money
shall have been collected; the cost of such statement is hereby
fixed at fifty cents and hereby made Sk part of the costs of
prosecution; and said Treasurer shall credit the moneys so
received to Conservation Fund.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That all laws or parts
of laws in the State of Maryland, general or local, incon-
sistent with the provisions of this Act be and the same are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1927.

CHAPTER 694.

AN ACT to authorize the purchase of and provide funds for
a pumper for the: Town of Hyattsville, in Prince George's
County, Maryland, and empower the Mayor and Common
Council to set aside from the general tax levy an additional
five cents on the hundred dollars for the maintenance, oper-
ation and care of the Fire Department.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in order to provide adequate protection from
fire, the Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville, in Prince
George's County, Maryland, be and it is hereby authorized
and empowered to purchase on a deferred payment plan, on
