the words "for issue of bonds"' or "against issue of bonds, " or
"far loan on promissory notes" or "against loan on promissory
notes, " and if a majority of the ballots cast shall contain the
words "for issue of bonds" or "for loan on promissory notes, "
then this Act shall become operative and binding, but if a ma-
jority of said ballots shall contain the words "against issue of
bonds" or "against loan on promissory notes, " then and in
that event the Commissioners of Thurmont shall have power
upon the written application of ten qualified voters and tax
payers residing within the corporate limits of Thurmont to
resubmit the question of issuing bonds in the manner herein
provided at a subsequent election for an aggregate amount of
twenty thousand dollars ($20, 000. 00) or any part thereof;
providing that in no event shall the aggregate amount of all
bonds issued under this Act from time to time exceed twenty
thousand dollars ($20, 0. 00. 00). And the judges of said munic-
ipal election or a majority of them shall return to the Presi-
dent of the Board of Commissioners of Thurmont the number
of ballots cast "for issue of bonds" and "against issue of bonds, "
or "far loan on promissory notes" and "against loan on prom-
issory notes, " respectively, and the said President of the Board
of Commissioners of Thurmont shall announce the result
thereof.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 113.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, subject to the approval of the Mayor, to pay
all laborers employed by any department, board or commis-
sion of said City not less than fifty cents per hour.

CHAPTER 114.
AN ACT to repeal Section 251, Article 13, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, titled "Harford County, "
as enacted by Chapter 680 of the Acts of 1916.
