CHAPTER 108
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Councilmen of Rock Hall,
in Kent County, to sell, lease or otherwise dispose of the
Rock Hall Electric Light Plant and Distributing System
used in connection with said plant.
WHEREAS, By Chapter 530, of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed at the 1914 Session, the Mayor and
Councilmen of Rock Hall, in Kent County, were authorized
to erect, construct, operate and keep in repair an Electric Light
Plant in the town of Rock Hall; and
WHEREAS, in pursuance of the authority contained in the
aforesaid Act, the Mayor and Councilmen of Rock Ball in Kent
County, did erect and construct and since have operated an
Electric Light Plant in the town of Rock Hall; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Councilmen of Rock Hall, in Kent
County, have deemed it advisable and for the best interest of
said Town, as well as necessary for the health of the inhabi-
tants thereof, to dispose of its said Electric Light Plant and
Distributing System and to purchase electric current for public
use therefor;
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Councilmen of Rock Hall, in Kent
County, be and they are hereby authorized to sell, lease, or to
lease with an agreement to sell, the said Rock Hall Electric
Light and Distributing System, in whole or in parts, to such
person or persons, body Corporate or bodies Corporate, upon
such terms and conditions and for such sums, as in their dis-
cretion, the said Mayor and Councilmen of Rock Hall, in Kent
County shall determine and deem; to be most advantageous
for the inhabitants of said town and to contract for a supply
of electric light and power for public use in said Town.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
