Act, be, and they are, hereby repealed in so far as they relate
to Talbot County.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1927.

CHAPTER 623.

AN ACT to authorize the Governor to cede to the United
States whatever title the State of Maryland may have to four
small parcels of land in Montgomery County, Maryland, re-
quired by the United States for purposes of increasing the
water supply of the District of Columbia.

WHEREAS, The United States of America desires to acquire
four small parcels of land in Montgomery County, Maryland,
adjacent to United States Property, known as the Washing-
ton Aqueduct property for purposes of increasing the water
supply of the District of Columbia; and

WHEREAS, The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company claims
title to said small parcels of land and has been in possession of
the same for over 100 years, but it appears from the abstract
of title of said parcels that the State of Maryland may have
some interest in said parcels of land; now, therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor of the State, upon application of an
authorized agent of the United States, setting forth a descrip-
tion by metes and bounds of the lands required, not exceeding
five acres in all, is authorized and empowered to convey what-
ever right, title or interest the State of Maryland may have
in said lands to the United States and to cede jurisdiction over
the same, the said parcels of land being described as follows:

PARCEL "A".

A subterranean right of way 16 feet wide at elevation approxi-
mately 140 feet above mean sea level under the C. and O. Canal
for constructing and maintaining a conduit to carry water
from Great Falls to Dalecarlia Reservoir, the center line of
said right of way being described as follows: Beginning at a
point on the new conduit line known as Station 132, 100 feet
