1234 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 603

condemnation, the property, real and personal, rights and
franchises of any person or persons, partnership or corpora-
tion now furnishing water to the citizens of the town of
Federalsburg, to levy and collect taxes on the assessable
property in said town for the redemption and payment of
said bonds and the interest thereon, with a proviso that
said bonds shall not be issued unless sanctioned by a majority
of the qualified voters of said town voting at an election for
that purpose.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That ''The Commissioners of Federalsburg" be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to construct, establish
and maintain a water supply system in and for the Town of
Federalsburg, in Caroline County, State of Maryland, or in
their discretion to acquire by purchase or condemnation, the
property, real and personal, rights and franchises, of any per-
son or persons, partnership or corporation now furnishing
water to the citizens of Federalsburg, for the purpose of furn-
ishing an adequate and proper supply of water in said town for
all private and municipal purposes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That "The Commis-
sioners of Federalsburg" be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to acquire by purchase, lease, gift or by con-
demnation, in the manner now prescribed by law for the ac-
quisition of private property for public use, any and all prop-
erty, both real and personal, or any interest therein, within
or without the corporate limits of the said Town of Federals-
burg which the said "The Commissioners of Federalsburg"
may deem necessary for the proper construction of said im-
provements; and the said "The Commissioners of Federals-
burg" may in their discretion also acquire by purchase or con-
demnation, the property, real and personal, rights and fran-
chises, of any person or persons, partnership or corporation
now furnishing water to the citizens of the Town of Federals-
burg.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purposes
set forth above, "The Commissioners of Federalsburg" are
hereby authorized and empowered, with the approval of the
qualified voters of said town as hereinafter provided, to is-
sue the bonds of said municipal corporation to an amount
not exceeding the sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30, 000. 00)
in denominations of not less than One Hundred Dollars
($100. 00) nor more than One Thousand Dollars ($1, 000. 00)
and each of said bonds shall be sealed with the corporate seal
