SEC. 12. Nothing in this act shall be considered in any
manner as changing, modifying or enlarging any of the terms
of the lease from the Youghiogheny Hydro Electric Corpo-
ration and The Eastern Land Company to the State of Mary-
land for the use of Conservation Department of the area in-
volved, nor to affect in any manner the rights, privileges and
reservations of the lessors therein.

SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
become effective June 1, 1927, and shall continue in force
only during the continuance of the leases referred to in
Section 1 or any renewal or renewals of said leases.

CHAPTER 533.

AN ACT to add seven new sections to Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punishments, "
to follow after Section 187 of said Article, and to be
known as Sections 187-A, 187-B, 187-C, 187-D, 187-E,
187-F and 187-G, the same making it unlawful and pre-
scribing penalties for using incorrect hubdometers or other
devices for registering the distance traveled by motor ve-
hicles, or for knowingly deceiving persons who rent, hire
or lease motor vehicles as to the distance such vehicles
have traveled; making it unlawful and prescribing penalties
for hiring, leasing or renting a motor vehicle to be oper-
ated by a person under the influence of liquors or drugs;
making it unlawful and prescribing penalties to remove,
tamper with or damage hubdometers or other mechanical
devices attached to motor vehicles for the purpose of regis-
tering distance; making it unlawful and prescribing penal-
ties for obtaining the use of a motor vehicle by means of a
trick, or false representation, or false token or writing, or
false personation of another; making it unlawful and pre-
scribing penalties for any person who abandons, refuses
or wilfully neglects to return a motor vehicle which has
been hired, leased or rented; making it unlawful and pre-
scribing penalties for the failure or refusal to pay, or to
avoid the payment of, money due for the use of a motor
vehicle under an agreement basing the charge on the dis-
