prescribing the manner in which said licenses are to be
issued, cost and manner of collection thereof; requiring
the registration of boats; providing for the policing of
said area and prescribing penalties for the violation of
the provisions of this Act.
WHEREAS, By the project of the Youghiogheny Hydro
Electric Corporation, an artificial lake, twelve miles long and
an average of half a mile wide, has been formed from a num-
ber of mountain streams flowing into it, and is privately
owned and under the control of the said corporation, and
the above corporation and the Eastern Land Corporation
leased on March 5, 1926, for a period of five years to the
State of Maryland, under the supervision of the Conserva-
tion Department, said lake to be set aside as a fish and game
sanctuary, with power to regulate fishing and hunting thereon,
and
WHEREAS, Said lake is adaptable to rainbow and brook
trout, much sought after by the game fishermen of this and
other States, and is being constantly stocked by the Conserva-
tion Department with the above species of fish, and the waters
of the lake admirably situated for the purpose of rearing
young trout, it is proposed to stock this lake with fish and
permit the public to fish and hunt on this preserve under
certain restrictions, as follows:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Conservation Commissioner of Maryland
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to require all
persons desiring to fish or boat on that part of the waters of
Deep Creek Lake under lease to the State of Maryland, by
the Eastern Land Corporation and the Youghiogheny Hydro-
Electric Corporation to obtain a license so to do in the manner
and under the conditions hereinafter provided in this Act.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That it shall be unlawful for
any person to fish upon the waters referred to in Section 1
of this Act without first obtaining from the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court of Garrett County an annual license so to do, and
paying therefor in the case of non-residents of the State the
sum of five dollars ($5. 00), in the case of residents of the
State who are non-residents of Garrett County the sum of
two dollars and fifty cents ($2. 50), and in the case of citi-
