SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 216 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
laws of Maryland, title "Garrett County", sub-title "State's
Attorney", as said section was amended by Chapter 92 of the
Acts of 1922, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, to read as follows:
216. The State's Attorney for Garrett County shall receive
an annual salary of fifteen hundred dollars, which salary
shall be paid to him by the County Commissioners of said
county, payable quarterly by warrant on the County Treasurer,
and it shall be unlawful for him to receive or the said County
Commissioners to pay him any other or further compensation,
salary, fee or recompense of any kind, except the necessary ex-
penses incident to said office, including stationery, postage and
necessary traveling expenses incurred in performing the sev-
eral duties of said office. It shall be the duty of the Sheriff
of said county to collect and pay over to said county any ap-
pearance or other fee taxed as part of the costs payable to the
State's Attorney in any criminal case.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing contained
in Section 216, as amended by this Act, shall be construed as
affecting in any way the compensation or duties of the present
encumbent of the office of State's Attorney for Garrett County,
his compensation and duties remaining the same as they were
before the passage of this Act.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 331.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 24 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Worcester County",
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", said new
section to be known as Section 126-A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 126 of said Article, providing for
removal of causes from one justice of the peace of said
county to another upon certain conditions and under cer-
tain circumstances.
