SEC. 3, And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1924.

CHAPTER 316.

AN ACT to merge and consolidate the Baltimore College of Den-
tal Surgery, incorporated by the Act of 1840 Chapter 155,
as supplemented and amended by the Act of 1870 Chapter
149, with the University of Maryland, incorporated by the
Act of 1912, Chapter 159. as supplemented and amended by
the Act of 1882 Chapter 88 and as further supplemented
and amended by the Act of 1920, Chapter 480, and to pre-
serve the name of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery
as a Department of the University of Maryland and to re-
serve to the faculty of the Baltimore College of Dental
Surgery as now constituted and its or their assigns, all
right, title and interest in any and all real estate now owned
and possessed by said Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.

WHEREAS, It is believed to be to the interest of higher educa-
tion in the State of Maryland that a consolidation and merger
of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and tie University
of Maryland shall be effected which, under the name of the
University of Maryland shall be controlled, managed and gov-
erned in the way now or hereafter to be prescribed by law for
the University of Maryland with all the powers and rights now
exercised by the University of Maryland or hereafter to be ex-
ercised by it from time to time in accordance with the law.

WHEREAS, The Faculty of the Baltimore College of Dental
Surgery and the Board of Regents of the University of Mary-
land have heretofore agreed upon such merger and consoli-
dation in the interest of higher education in terms similar to
the provisions hereinafter set out and for the purpose of ef-
fectually and lawfully effecting, consummating and binding the
aforesaid agreement, the provisions of this Act are hereinafter
expressed.

SECTION 1. Now, therefore, Be it Enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Baltimore College of Dental Sur-
gery, incorporated by the Act of 1840, Chapter 155 as supple-
mented by the Act of 1870. Chapter 149, be and the same is
hereby merged and consolidated with the University of Mary-
land incorporated by the Act of 1812, Chapter 159 as supple-
