876 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 308

CHAPTER 308.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's County to borrow the sum of
seventy-five hundred dollars ($7, 500. 00) on promissory notes
and to provide for payment of same to be used for the
purpose of building a new school house at Crumpton and
an additional room to the Grammar School at Sudlersville
in said County.

WHEREAS, it appears that the ten thousand dollars ($10-
000. 00) provided by Chapter 445 of the Acts of 1920 and
amended by Chapter 456 of the Acts of 1922, for the erection
of a new school house at Crumpton, is insufficient to erect said
new building; and

WHEREAS, the Grammar School Building at Sudlersville is
not large enough to accommodate the children now attending
said Grammar School, so that 31 children are now using the
Town Hall as a school room at a very high rental and with
very poor accommodations; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
borrow a sum not to exceed seventy-five hundred dollars
($7, 500. 00), five thousand dollars ($5, 000. 00) of which shall
be used to complete the new school house at Crumpton and
twenty-five hundred dollars ($2, 500. 00) of which shall be used
to build an addition to the Grammar School at Sudlersville.
The payment of the money so borrowed is to be secured by
the note or notes of said County Commissioners, said note or
notes to be issued immediately after June 1, 1924, and to be
signed by the Board of County Commissioners and counter-
signed by the Clerk of said Board of County Commissioners
and bear interest from the date of making of said notes. Said
notes and the interest thereon to be paid out of the regular
levies to be made in the years 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927 and 1928.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That George I. Harrison,
W. J. Sparks and Robert Godwin be and the same are hereby
constituted as an advisory committee for the school at Crump-
ton, and that C. H. Metcalfe, J. Thomas Smith and N. A.
Johnson be and the same are hereby constituted as an advis-
ory committee for the additional school room at Sudlersville.
