are not so certified by the Police Physicians, any such patrol-
man shall, in the discretion of the Commissioner, cease to be
a member of the force.

The said police force may be increased at any time, if in
the opinion of the said Commissioner the public peace shall
require it, to any number and for such periods of time as lie
may think proper, by the appointment of special patrolmen,
who shall receive not less than three dollars and fifty cents
($3. 50) per day for their services.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1925.

CHAPTER 264.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 2 of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Reve-
nue and Taxes, " sub-title "Valuation and Assessment, " and
to add a new section to Article 81 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "Exemp-
tions, " said new section to be known as Section 4-D and to
follow immediately after Section 4C of the said Article, to
provide for the exemption of certain vessel property from
taxation for State and local purposes, and to exclude the
value of such vessel property from the taxable value of the
shares of stock of any corporation incorporated under the
laws of this State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "Valuation and
Assessment, " be and is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

2. Except as provided in Section 4D of this Article all
interests, shares or proportions owned by residents of this
State in ships or other vessels whether such ships or other
vessels be in or out of port, are and shall be valued and assessed
for the purposes of State, county and municipal taxation to
the respective owners thereof in the county or city in the State
in which said owner or owners shall respectively reside and
such respective owners shall pay the taxes thereon. All real
properties in this State belonging to any bank incorporated
