CHAPTER 238.
AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 39-A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Forestry, " sub-title "Mis-
cellaneous, " to follow immediately after Section 21 of said
Article, and to be known as Sections 21-A, 21-B and 21-C,
authorizing and directing the State Department of For-
estry to accept title to be taken in the name of the State of
Maryland, for the use of said department, of the necessary
approaches and rights of way for a certain footbridge to
replace the footbridge spanning the Patapsco River below
Ellicott City and known as the Orange Grove Footbridge,
and also in like manner to accept title to the bridge about
to be constructed by the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County and the County Commissioners of Howard
County to replace said Orange Grove Footbridge and for
other purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That three new sections be added to Article 39-A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Forestry, " sub-title "Mis-
cellaneous, " to follow immediately after Section 21 of said
Article, and to be known as Sections 21-A, 21-B and 21-C,
said new sections to read as follows:
Section 21-A. The State Department of Forestry is hereby
authorized and directed to accept and take title by good and
sufficient deed in the name of the State of Maryland for the
use of said department, of the necessary approaches and rights
of way for a certain footbridge to replace the footbridge span-
ning the Patapsco River below Ellicott City known as the
Orange Grove Footbridge, connecting the State Forest Res-
ervations in Baltimore and Howard Counties; and said depart-
ment is further authorized and directed to accept in like man-
ner from the County Commissioners of Baltimore County and
the County Commissioners of Howard County a good and
sufficient deed for said footbridge when constructed and com-
pleted by said Boards of County Commissioners.
21-B. Upon the conveyance of said bridge and said neces-
sary approaches and rights of way to the State of Maryland
for the use of said Department of Forestry, jurisdiction and
control over the same shall vest in said department, and there-
after neither the County Commissioners of Baltimore County
nor the County Commissioners of Howard County shall be
charged with any duty, responsibility or liability for the
