SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 116 of Article 11 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Dennis' Edition), title "Frederick
County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and that a new
section be added to said article, said new section to be known
as Section 116A, to follow immediately after Section 116 of
said Article, and all to read as follows:
116. The next election of county commissioners of Fred-
erick County shall be held on Tuesday after the first Monday
in the month of November, in the year 1926, and on the same
day in every fourth year thereafter, and there shall then be
elected five County Commissioners, which number shall thence-
forth compose the Board of County Commissioners; and said
commissioners so elected shall each receive for the service per-
formed by them an annual salary of fifteen hundred dollars,
payable in monthly installments of one hundred twenty-five
dollars by the County Treasurer of said county, as full com-
pensation for services and mileage; provided, however, should
any emergency arise necessitating them, or either of them, to go
outside Frederick County to perform any duties pertaining
to their office, then each of them so doing shall be reimbursed
from the miscellaneous fund of said county for his actual and
necessary expenses.
116A. The County Commissioners of Frederick County
shall meet three days in each week at their office in Frederick
City for the transaction of general business and may hold other
meetings, either at their office, or elsewhere, in or without said
county, as their duties may require, and on two of the remain-
ing days of each week each of said County Commissioners shall
as their duties require, supervise the special territory in said
county allotted to him, in order that he may keep in close touch
with the needs of such special territory.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing contained
in this Act, shall be taken to affect or impair in any way the
tenures of the present Board of Commissioners, but that they
shall each be entitled to serve out the full term for which they
were elected.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect December 1, 1926.
