CHAPTER 180.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Frederick County to borrow money on the credit of said
county, to purchase or condemn real estate and pay for the
erection, repair or improvement of public school buildings
in Frederick County namely, at Jefferson, Thurmont,
Brunswick, Urbana, Creagerstown, Kemptown, Lewistown
and Liberty, in said county, or for furnishing or refurnish-
ing or equipping or re-equipping the same and to issue bonds
therefor, and to levy on the assessable property in Frederick
County, such taxes as may be necessary for the payment of
the bonds hereby authorized to be issued and of the interest
thereon as it becomes due.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Frederick County,
in order to provide the necessary funds to purchase or con-
demn real estate and pay for the erection, repair or improve-
ment of public school buildings at Jefferson, Thurmont.
Brunswick, Urbana, Creageratown, Kemptown, Lewistown
and Liberty, in Frederick County, or for furnishing or refur-
nishing or equipping or re-equipping the same, are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to borrow money on the credit of the
county to the amount of ninety-five thousand dollars ($95, -
000. 00) in the year 1924, and to issue bonds therefor, under
the corporate seal of said County Commissioners, to be signed
by the President of the Board of said County Commissioners
and countersigned by the clerk thereof, in sums of one thous-
and dollars ($1, 000. 00), bearing interest from date of issue
thereof at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum, payable
semi-annually, of which said bonds five thousand dollars
($5, 000. 00) shall be so drawn as to mature on the first day
of January, 1947, and ten thousand dollars ($10, 000. 00) on
the first day of January in each consecutive year thereafter to
and including the first day of January, 1956; and said bonds
shall have written or printed on them a distinct reference to the
Act authorizing and empowering the issuance of the same, and
said bonds when issued shall be exempt from State, municipal
and county taxation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall cause to be levied and collected from the as-
sessable property in Frederick County such taxes as shall be
sufficient to pay for the interest on the outstanding bonds is-
