needful taxes on the assessable property within the county
liable to taxation as shall be sufficient to pay said salary.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1924.

CHAPTER 36.
AN ACT to amend Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title, "Washington County, " sub-title,
"Justices of the Peace, " by adding thereto certain new sec-
tions to follow immediately after Section No. 272, and to be
known as Sections 272A, 273B, 272C, 272D, 272E, 272F,
272G, 272H, 272I, 272J, 272K, 272L, 272M, 272N, 272O,
272P, 272Q, 272R, 272S, 272T, 272U and 272V.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, Ar-
ticle 22, title, "Washington County, " sub-title, "Justices of the
Peace, " be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto
the following sections, to follow immediately after Section 272,
and to be known and designated as Sections 272A, 272B,
272C, 272D, 272E, 272F, 272G, 272H, 272I, 272J, 272K,
272L, 272M, 2T2N, 272O, 272P, 272Q, 272R, 272S, 2T2T,
2T2U and 272V.
272A. In addition to the Justices of the Peace hereinbe-
fore provided for in this Article, there shall be appointed by
the Governor, by and with the consent of the Senate, and if
the Senate shall not be in session, by the Governor, from Wash-
ington County at large, an additional Justice of the Peace, to
be also known as the Magistrate for Juvenile Cases, whose
term of office shall begin on the first Monday of May, 1924,
and who shall thereafter be appointed in conformity with the
Constitution of this State, and who shall be a member of the
Bar of the Circuit Court for Washington County, and who
shall not by reason of such appointment be debarred from
practicing law in any of the Courts of this State, who shall re-
ceive a salary of two thousand dollars per annum, payable
monthly, two-thirds by the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County, and the other one-third by the Mayor and Coun-
cil of Hagerstown, and the jurisdictions and powers of such
Justices shall be as follows:
