of any such deficiency of interest on said bonds and for any
deficiency on the one-twentieth part of the principal of said
bonded debt as the said bonds mature.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said sum of ten
thousand ($10, 000. 00) dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary for the purpose, shall, by the Commissioners of
Millington, be used and applied in the erection of a building
suitable for the housing of its fire equipment and for other
municipal purposes, and if any part of the proceeds of the
sale of said bonds be left over after the erection of said build-
ing and the payment thereof, the same shall be returned over
to the Treasurer of said town to be credited to the sinking
fund hereinbefore provided for.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same, shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 35.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 96
of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Washington County, " sub-title "County Com-
missioners, " as said section was amended by Chapter 510 of
the Acts of 1910, increasing the compensation of the County
Clerk.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land. That Section 96 of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Washington County, " sub-title
"County Commissioners, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 510 of the Acts of 1910, be and the same is hereby
repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows:
96. The County Clerk shall receive for his services an
annual salary of eighteen hundred dollars ($1800. 00) and no
more, payable in equal monthly instalments by the County
Commissioners of Washington County, and the said County
Commissioners are hereby authorized and required to levy the
